THE LAND WAS NEVER EMPTY
The fleet remains in Nova Scotia. Today we do not sail. Tonight we listen before Chapter IV begins.

THE VOYAGE BECOMES A LIVING SAGA

Memory has returned. The saga has a Keeper. Chapter III carries the crew south.

THE LAND WAS NEVER EMPTY.
103 Vikings. 52,604,210 steps. ≈34,193 km behind us.
Tonight, we do not sail. Our ships rest along the shores of Nova Scotia, and for once the oars fall silent.
We have entered Mi'kma'ki — the traditional homeland of the Mi'kmaq. Tonight we listen before we sail again.

NEWFOUNDLAND → NOVA SCOTIA
The fleet has reached Nova Scotia. Day 26 closes Chapter III at 50,647,198 steps — approximately 32,920.7 km since Greenland.
ONE FLEET. ONE SAGA. ONE GOAL.

THE LAND WAS NEVER EMPTY
This is Mi'kma'ki — the traditional and ancestral homeland of the Mi'kmaq. Indigenous peoples had lived in this region for thousands of years before Norse sails crossed the western Atlantic.
Around 1,000 years ago, the Norse also reached North America. L'Anse aux Meadows proves their presence, while the Vinland sagas describe encounters with Indigenous peoples whom the Norse called Skrælingar. Were they Mi'kmaq? We do not know.
HISTORY BEFORE LEGEND. LISTEN BEFORE WE SAIL.

YOU ARE NO LONGER ALONE
Þóra came from the mist with Hugin and Munin above her. She brought no sword, no orders and no map. She brought a message: “Lean upon us now, my old friend. You are no longer alone.”
103 Vikings. Different people, different lives, different paths — aboard the same ship.
EVERY SAILOR MATTERS. TOGETHER WE CREATE OUR SAGA.

WHEN TWO WORLDS MET
Now we leave archaeology behind and enter the Vinland sagas. They tell of Thorfinn Karlsefni and his people meeting Indigenous inhabitants whom the Norse called Skrælingar — first through trade, then through fear, misunderstanding and conflict.
How much happened exactly as the sagas describe? We cannot know.
HERE HISTORY FADES — AND THE SAGA BEGINS.

EVERY SAILOR MATTERS
EVERY OAR MATTERS
Crew Honors belongs to OUR SAGA. Once entered into THE SHIP'S ROLL, a sailor's name remains part of this voyage.

EVERY OAR MATTERS. EVERY NAME HAS A STORY. ONE CREW. ONE SAGA.

ULF STANDS THE WATCH
The fires burn low along the shore of Nova Scotia. Behind them, 103 Vikings sleep. Tonight Hákon does not carry the watch. Ulf takes his place by the sea.
REST, VIKINGS. ULF KEEPS THE WATCH.

EVERY VIKING CARRIES A STORY
Some stories are written in steps. Some are told around the fire. Some are remembered long after the ships have sailed. Here, Þóra — Keeper of the Saga gathers the voices of our crew so the voyage can be remembered by more than one storyteller.
Here, the words of our crew are gathered and guarded by Þóra, Keeper of the Saga. Read the voices already carried into the chamber — or leave your own message for the Keeper.
Nothing enters the saga until it has passed through the Keeper's hands.
ENTER CREW VOICES →ÞÓRA — KEEPER’S INBOX →Longer stories can explore the people behind the oars and the paths that brought them aboard our fleet.
The crew may ask questions, suggest ideas and help the Captain and Keeper discover where the saga wants to go.
“OUR SAGA IS THE CREW'S SAGA.”
The Keeper's Chamber is curated rather than automatically published. Only public Viking/Pacer identities are used here; private real-world names are never displayed.
NAMES CARRIED ABOARD
Permanent pairings verified in the voyage record. Once a name enters the roll, it is never reused.
THE NORTH ATLANTIC CROSSING IS COMPLETE
For fifteen days, we watched the horizon.
We left Greenland behind and pushed westward across the cold North Atlantic — one step, one sailor, one day at a time.
Tonight, there is land beneath our feet.
19,155,478 steps.
≈ 12,451.1 km.
72 Vikings.
And for the first time since this voyage began, we can turn around and see what we have crossed.
CHAPTER I IS COMPLETE.
CHAPTER II AWAITS.

THE HISTORY MUST BE TRUE
This is the permanent reference record for Nordic Viking Heritage. Sources used from the beginning of the voyage are retained here. When new verified references are used, they are added — existing references are never removed.
“Every step counts.
Every Viking matters.”
